Careers

Come do the best I.T. work of your career.

Most I.T. jobs are a queue with a person attached. Ours isn't. We hire people who'd rather fix the root cause than close the ticket, and then we give them the room to actually do it. If you've ever been the one person at a company who genuinely cared whether the tech worked, you'll recognize the place.

Why FieldGuide

A support team that gets treated like engineers.

We're a team of about thirty, headquartered in Denver with teammates in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Ohio, and North Carolina. We're the I.T. department for companies that are growing faster than their tooling, which means the work is real: you own systems, you talk to humans, and you see the second-order effects of your own decisions.

We are not a call center with a nicer logo. There is no tier-one purgatory, no script, and no metric that rewards closing a ticket over solving a problem.

No tiered handoffs

You keep the problem until it's actually solved. Nobody escalates a person away from their own work, and nobody inherits a ticket with no context.

Root cause, not throughput

We'd rather you spend an afternoon killing a recurring issue than shave a minute off your average response time. The recurring issue is the expensive one.

Real client relationships

You work with the same companies long enough to learn their stack, their people, and what they're actually trying to build. Names, not account numbers.

Distributed, deliberately

We support distributed teams, so we run like one. Async by default, with the tooling and documentation habits that make that honest instead of aspirational. Denver is home base; we hire wherever the right person is.

What we look for

Curiosity beats a certification list.

We care much more about how you think than which vendor exams you've passed. The people who do well here tend to share a few traits: they explain technical things without condescending, they write things down, and they get genuinely irritated by problems that keep coming back.

If a posting's requirements list looks close but not exact, apply anyway and tell us why. We have hired more than one person who didn't match the bullet points and was obviously right for the work.

Current openings

Listings and applications are handled through our hiring platform below. If nothing is listed today, we're between openings — the contact form still reaches a real person, so tell us what you'd want to work on.

Don't see your role?

We open roles as we grow, and we keep good applications on file. If you think you'd be wasted somewhere else, reach out and make the case.
