Questions? We've got answers.
And if yours isn't here, just ask. We're pretty responsive. It's kind of our whole thing.
What makes FieldGuide different from other IT providers?
We operate as a single accountable team across daily support, security, compliance, and strategy. No tiered ticket queues. No fragmented vendors. Clear ownership and forward planning are built in from day one.
What size companies do you work with?
We are built for growing companies, typically teams of 20 to a few hundred employees. If you have outgrown doing IT yourself but are not ready to build a full internal IT department, that is usually where we fit best.
How quickly can we get started?
Most engagements begin within a few weeks. If there is urgency, we can accelerate onboarding and prioritize stabilization so your team sees value quickly.
What if we are currently with another MSP or IT provider?
Transitions are common. We handle them carefully and directly. That includes coordinating knowledge transfer with your current provider, removing any existing monitoring agents from your devices, securing administrative access, and documenting your environment properly. We have done this many times. Our goal is for your team to barely notice the switch.
How does pricing actually work?
We offer two primary ways to structure IT: Pay As You Go, billed in 15-minute increments for actual work performed, flexible and scalable month to month; or Per Person / Per Month, predictable baseline coverage for ongoing support and monitoring, with larger projects scoped separately. We will recommend the structure that fits your team size, growth plans, and budgeting preferences.
Do you require long-term contracts?
No. We do not require long-term commitments. After we understand your environment, we may offer optional discounted structures for stability, but you are never locked into something that does not fit.
Do you support project-based work?
Yes. Infrastructure upgrades, audit preparation, migrations, and modernization initiatives are scoped clearly and priced transparently in advance. For growth-heavy teams, we also offer flat-rate onboarding packages to make hiring spikes predictable.
Will you make us switch our existing tools?
No. If you already have tools that are working, we will manage them. If we believe there is a stronger option, we will explain why and let you decide. Our job is ownership and guidance, not forcing migrations.
What happens during a major incident or outage?
We follow structured incident response processes for critical outages and security events. That includes immediate triage, containment, clear communication with leadership, and post-incident documentation. You will always know who is in charge and what is happening.
Can you help with compliance like SOC 2 or HIPAA?
Yes. We build the framework, implement controls, manage evidence collection, and guide you through audits from start to finish.
Do you handle physical IT like offices and warehouses?
Yes. We manage cloud environments and physical infrastructure, including network design, warehouse redundancy, office buildouts, and conference room systems.
What if we already have an internal IT person?
That is common. We can support your existing IT lead by handling overflow, managing vendors, improving documentation, or providing the strategic layer they do not have time to own.
Do you use AI?
Yes. We use AI and automation internally to work faster and more effectively. You will not interact with a bot. You work directly with our team.
What are your standard coverage hours?
Our standard support window is Monday through Friday, 8am EST to 6pm PST. 24/7 on-call coverage is available as an add-on for teams that require it.
Where are you located? Do you work on-site?
We are headquartered in Denver, with team presence in New York City, Seattle, Ohio, and North Carolina. We support companies nationwide and will travel when on-site work is needed. If being in the room matters, we will get on a flight.
Do we have to use Slack?
No. We support Slack, Microsoft Teams, and email. We meet your team where they already communicate.
How do we get started?
Book a 15-minute call. We will learn about your team, your environment, and your goals, then outline what FieldGuide would look like for you. No pitch deck. No pressure.
